Amada has been dedicated to the forming / sheet-metal working machinery business for 60 years since its foundation. Amada was among the first to adopt the cutting-edge technologies, which were rapidly advancing from mechanical to electronic and analog to digital, in the manufacturing of high-speed and high-precision machines for the industrial world.
The technologies gained worldwide acclaim, accelerating the introduction in the U.S, European and Asian production sites and turning Amada into a global company that leads the global manufacturing industry. Amada’s motto is “Creative Solutions for Your Success”. This indicates our resolve to do manufacturing based on our unique technologies. Machines backed up by firm technologies are the foundation for business development. Based on this idea, Amada has been making constant efforts to create new technologies.
We established the “Development Center” at Fujinomiya Works in Fujinomiya city, Shizuoka in March 2007 to accelerate technological development. There, the frontloading development utilizing 3D CAD is conducted in the product development for the next generation.
The “Development Center” was based on the new manufacturing concept that had been in my mind since I assumed the presidency. We built a “Laser-machine-dedicated factory” at the same time to make Fujinomiya Works as Amada’s development and manufacturing base.
Nestled in Fuji’s nature, Fujinomiya Works enjoys a good environment for a factory. Positioning the Fujinomiya Works as the Innovation Center, Amada will launch new technologies and new products to the world. Amada has offered a number of solutions to customers by utilizing its strong engineering capability being accumulated up to now. By putting the Innovation Center activities on track, we will be able to provide a number of pioneering technologies that can lead the sheet metalworking industry, and we will also be able to contribute to the further growth of our customers. Furthermore, we will be able to respond adequately to the expectations of our investors. For years, Amada has developed the Group-wide management. This is also one of the features unique to Amada. The Group’s products range widely from sheet metal working machines, bandsaw machines, press machines, to machine tools.
Integrating these Group’s management resources and vaulting Amada into a “comprehensive manufacturer of metalworking machinery” – this is my vision of the next project. Amada will be able to continue growing steadily if we can make full use of our engineering capability w e have cultivated so far and transform Amada into the “comprehensive manufacturer of metalworking machinery”.
We are committed to make all our efforts to realize this vision.
